Custom Scarf: The Wardroom in Historic San Marco

When Forrest Brewer and Ward Lariscy asked me to design a custom scarf for their popular gift shop, The Wardroom in Jacksonville’s historic San Marco, I was thrilled at the opportunity. I grew up walking from my house and school to the shops in San Marco. We loved eating lunch at Mims Bakery and going to Saturday matinees at San Marco Theater.

The lion statue in the heart of San Marco made the perfect subject for a scarf and The Wardroom a perfect backdrop. Before I started the design, I researched the history of the neighborhood and, of course, its namesake piazza in Venice.

To bring the process to life, I made this short video. Enjoy! And if you are in Jacksonville, visit Forrest and Ward in their wonderful San Marco shop.
